Mrs W – Sussex

The Challenge

Mrs W. approached our team regarding her bathroom adaptation having had a positive experience troubleshooting a shower issue in different room. The brief was that she wanted something unique and stylish, that also did not look like a typical accessible bathroom. Planning ahead she wanted herself and other people staying at her property to be able to enjoy their bathing experience in future regardless of their flexibility and mobility.

The Solution

After completing a free home visit we proposed some configuration changes to the bathroom which included the removal of the standard bath, replacing it with a level-access shower tray and Mira Select Flex Thermo Mixer. Unfortunately due to restrictions in the client’s lease agreement we were not able to carry out works below the current floor level, so we agreed with Mrs W. that a low-level shower tray would be the next best solution.

In collaboration with Mrs W. we also specified a wall-mounted Impey Slimfold shower seat, chrome towel rail and a large and glamorous mirror with integrated lighting. We also adjusted the depth of the exterior facing wall, allowing the WC waste pipes to be hidden, which maintained the maximum possible space within the fitted units.

The Result

The new accessible shower room installation ran smoothly. The teal metro tiles were slightly more challenging to source than expected, but this did not delay the overall project times scales. This stunning colour combined with the contemporary white basin vanity, additional white storage, white grab handles and white ant-slip flooring strikes the perfect balance resulting in a clean functional design and with a real sense of style.

When reviewing her installation Mrs W. said:

“Jamie (bathroom installer) was absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, polite, always on time and he was very, very nice indeed… I decided to use Absolute Mobility because Darren (Director) came to help with a previous shower issue I had and was so helpful that I decided to use Absolute Mobility for my accessible bathroom.

The people in the office are always very polite and nice to deal with and Jamie particularly stands out – he always went above and beyond what he needed to do. 10/10!”

“Very pleased all round, the Luxor walk in bath has proved very easy to use and I have found having the additional shower makes washing my hair mush easier so thank you for your suggestion. My wife is happy with the colour match to our old bathroom suite which was her only concern. All in all we have been very pleased with the service you have offered.”
